- Two new Insight Collections: ”Yearly Top Played" collections show your most played albums of each year since you started using Albums. "Workout Jams" collections match your listening history to your Health app workout history. Head to the Insights tab to give Albums permission, and enjoy collections of albums you listened to during each type of exercise you've tracked. You can also now tap "Edit" on the Insights tab to hide sections you aren’t interested in.
- You can now long-press an individual song on a track list to bring up a menu of available actions, like viewing the artist page for any featured artists or rating it on Apple Music. To take an action on the currently playing song, long-press on the Miniplayer.
- Import your last.fm history into your Albums Listening History to include all full album plays in in-app stats. A new Insight Collection called "Forgotten Scrobbles," made up of albums you’ve scrobbled that aren’t in your library, will become available in the "Diamonds in the Rough" section. Finally, the new "Yearly Top Played" Insight Collections will reflect your listening back to the beginning of your last.fm account.
- Improvements to Listening History, including showing the tracks listened in an incomplete album, or the workout associated with a session. When viewing previous listens on an album page, you can tap a session to open that week in your play history. Also, if you are logged into last.fm, you can now show a given day on last.fm by tapping the last.fm logo.
- Head to "Automation Corner" on the settings tab to view the many options available to use Albums with Siri. Configure shortcuts to start playing collections and tagging albums. For the true automation nerds, view information about the new Albums URL Scheme you can use to write your own shortcuts to open an album, artist, or track in Albums.
- The Apple Music tab on the search screen now supports searching for Record Labels. You can also search for and subscribe to labels in the Release Feed settings by choosing “Manage Subscriptions.”
- If you only want to add some tracks from an album to your library, like in the case of a deluxe edition, you can long-press the "Add" button on an album’s page to select specific tracks."
- Long-press an album on the Listening History page to view the songs you listened to from that album during that listening session. This only works for music you listened to after installing this update, as well as for imported last.fm history.

- Non-library albums on artist pages can now be sorted by their popularity on Apple Music. If you don’t know where to start with an artist that has a large discography, now you do!
- There is a new Shortcut action called “Tag an Album.” This action takes input in the format of “Artist - Album Name” and adds the album to the Tag you specify. If you’re an Apple Music subscriber, it will search the Apple Music catalog if it doesn’t find the album in your library first.
Changes:
- Stats and Listening Reports now reflect only listens to Complete Albums. You can choose to include other release types, like Singles or Incomplete Albums, by tapping the gear icon in the top left of Stats pages and Listening Reports
- The sleep timer now moves to the next album into the queue before pausing

Features:
- Just in time for the end of the year, new ways to look back at your listening. The Library tab now shows a listening report on the first day of the week, month, and year. To generate reports on-demand, head to the Report tab on the Listening History screen.
- Library, collection, and album stats have gotten an upgrade throughout the app, including a new design, new stats, and the ability to toggle between time listened and play count.
- The Now Playing and Collection widgets now support the extra-large size for iPad OS. In addition, the Collection widget has been redesigned, and there are new varieties of Now Playing widget.
- See what tracks are missing from an album and add them to your library by tapping the "Show Complete Album" button at the bottom of any incomplete album's tracklist.
- If an album has songs you never want to hear again, go to its settings and exclude them.
- You can now resume albums you didn't finish last time you listened. A half-filled circle icon in your Listening History or on an album's page denotes a resumable album.
- Collections can now be sorted by Time Listened.
- You can now add an album to your library or to a tag by scanning its barcode.
Changes:
- You'll now be prompted before playing something new if it will clear your current queue. If you do accidentally clear your queue, you can restore your previous queue in settings -> Advanced. If you find the prompt annoying like me, there is a setting on that screen to disable it
- Select the Settings icon on the Albums tab to configure the tap behavior of the grid.
- You can now drag to reorder the Quick Action dock, as well as long press an action in the dock to edit it.
- The legacy “Shuffle By” and “Play Quick Action” shortcuts have been removed. Head to Settings -> Siri to configure Play Collection shortcuts.
